Albers was a teacher at the Bauhaus in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s until he was forced to leave and escaped to America. He established the Black Mountain College where very important artists came to study. His experiments with color had strong influence on other artists like Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Bauhaus and is a fine moment to add an Albers to your collection.
